SNR Max Per Micron Squared

This comparison tool allows you to compare signal to noise of our cameras based on assumed light fluxes per micron. Using this approach allows us to consider pixel size as a function of sensitivity along with QE and noise.

For the purposes of comparison the peak QE is used, along with the lowest noise and 0 second exposure time.

The equation used for analysis is:

P*QE√(P*QE+(DC*t)+(RN)2)

P = Photons

QE = Quantum efficiency

DC = Dark Current (assumed zero)

T = time (assumed zero)

RN = Read Noise
