This comparison tool allows you to compare signal to noise of our cameras based on assumed light fluxes per micron. Using this approach allows us to consider pixel size as a function of sensitivity along with QE and noise.
For the purposes of comparison the peak QE is used, along with the lowest noise and 0 second exposure time.
The equation used for analysis is:
P*QE√(P*QE+(DC*t)+(RN)2)
P = Photons
QE = Quantum efficiency
DC = Dark Current (assumed zero)
T = time (assumed zero)
RN = Read Noise
